In the wake of the premiere of Interstellar, I recreated the wormhole renowned gravitational physicist Kip Thorne and the team at Double Negative designed for the movie. Wormholes are curved spacetime structures bridging two distant flat spacetime patches. I used the top two images shown below (provided in the team's publication for testing purposes) to generate the image in the bottom right. This required the numerical evaluation of the geodesic equation applied to the wormhole metric for each pixel in the image.
Coded in Mathematica.
